Scotland captain Preston Mommsen denies his team are "daunted" by New Zealand ahead of their Cricket World Cup clash on Tuesday.
The minnows open their campaign against the tournament co-hosts at University Oval in Dunedin, where they are being given little chance of causing an upset.
Mommsen said his team would take plenty out of their three-run loss to the West Indies in a warm-up game on Thursday into their clash against the Kiwis.
"I don't think we're daunted by the way they play," he told a media conference on Monday.
"Obviously the focus has very much been on the way we want to play our game tomorrow. At the same time, we know they're dangerous, it's a dangerous line-up from 1-11.
"At the same time, they're still human beings, they still can nick the ball and get caught at slip.
"We have to put the balls in the right areas, and make sure we're able to contain them."
Scotland's other warm-up game was a 179-run victory over Ireland in Sydney on February 10.
Mommsen described the lead-up to their first game of the tournament as ideal, but understands his team will be up against it.
"The build-up has been near perfect for the boys," he said.
"We're very realistic about the opposition that we're up against.
"Obviously New Zealand are a quality team and the form they are currently in, they're going to be a difficult team to break down.
"But at the same time we've prepared as we have every other game in the lead-up to this game tomorrow and hopefully we can put in a good performance."
