Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq said his team were poor in every department in their 150-run loss to the West Indies at the Cricket World Cup on Saturday.
The West Indies made 310-6 after being put in to bat in Christchurch before they had Pakistan 4-1 inside four overs.
There was no way back from there for Misbah's men, who eventually reached 160 on their way to defeat.
Misbah said his team were poor all-round in the loss.
"We just lost in all three departments. Couldn't bowl well, a lot of dropped catches, and batting, totally flopped," he told a media conference.
Misbah added: "I mean, there is not a single department where we are not doing bad, I think.
"Today it was in all three departments. So we need to really come up the next eight, nine days, we really need to work hard.
"We need to pick up ourselves mentally. Skill-wise we need to really pick up ourselves and come hard in the next games, because now we have our damage."
There were rumours of a rift developing in the squad in the lead-up to Pakistan's game against the Windies.
That has been denied, and Misbah said it was up to the players to turn their winless World Cup campaign around.
"I think it's totally up to the players. As the players have to execute the skills," he said.
"At the end of the day as a bowler, as a fielder, as a batsman, you have to go there in the middle and perform. That's what we are not doing at the moment."
Asked if talk of a rift had affected the players, Misbah said it was more down to his team's failure to adapt to the conditions.
"Nothing is happening. As a team, I mean in these conditions we are struggling," he said.
"We are not just getting used to these pitches while we are batting, especially the new ball. We are not handling it well, and that's it.
"I think there is nothing wrong in the team and nothing happening.
"It's not always that something is happening in the team and that's why we're not performing. We completely were outdone by the conditions."
