Pakistan were restricted to just 96-9 batting first on Sunday and Australia then powered to a six-wicket victory with six overs to spare.
The two sides are scheduled to meet in three one-day internationals and a couple of Test matches in the United Arab Emirates and Maxwell is already eyeing a clean sweep of wins.
"We were aiming to put our front foot forward, put a dent in Pakistan and make it harder for them to come back for the rest of the time we're here," Maxwell told Cricket Australia.
"To start a series like that, where it's a really dominant win, is a great way to start a tour and if you can keep your foot on the throat the whole way through a tour, it just shows what you're really here to do.
"It's something we haven't done in an away series for a while, especially going back to the India tour a couple of years ago where it was the opposite way round and they stood on us the whole way through.
"So hopefully we can do that to Pakistan and go back home with six wins. We're not expecting every game to be as comfortable as that, but we've done our homework and are well prepared."
Maxwell did much of the damage by taking the first three wickets and conceding only 13 runs, but he was well backed up by debutants including Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson and Sean Abbott.
"At the start of a T20 innings, if you bowl off-spin, it's a bit of a lottery, really," Maxwell said.
"If you get an early one, sometimes you can get on a roll and luckily tonight I got an early one.
"It was a little bit of a soft dismissal, but it's amazing how if a bit of luck goes your way, all of a sudden the ball can roll for you.
"But the way that everyone bowled, especially the debutants that came into the team, they did exactly what they were asked and just stuck to their guns, it was just a really good team performance all round."
David Warner struck four fours and three sixes in an unbeaten 53 off 39 balls, while Maxwell contributed 17 as Australia raced to victory.
