After crashing out of the Argentina Grand Prix following an incident with Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez is eager to learn from the Italian and get his title defence back on track.
Marquez was in front for much of the race but, having been gradually reeled in by Rossi, the Spaniard made contact with the leader's Yamaha bike after slipping into second.
The crash on the penultimate lap saw Marquez spin off with Rossi closing out the victory to go six points clear at the top of the standings - 30 points ahead of defending champion Marquez in fifth.
"When he caught me, we fought for a few corners and unfortunately we touched and I crashed," the Repsol Honda rider explained.
"I've always said that he's my idol and my reference point, so you always learn things from him.
"Now we have to think about [the Spanish Grand Prix in] Jerez and begin to recover points."
Six-time MotoGP world champion Rossi has now won two of three races this season and is on course for a first title since 2009.
"Step by step I came back, and when I arrived in second Marc had a little more than four-second lead. I knew the race was long, so I knew he could have some difficulty," Rossi added.
"Catching him lap by lap, I could see him far away but coming closer and closer, it was a great feeling.
"I overtook him in braking, but he is a rider who is all or nothing, he touched me in the corner, then he touched me again as I was accelerating, I think he made a mistake and he crashed.
"It's a shame because it could have been a great fight on the last lap. In three races we have demonstrated we can be competitive everywhere and fight for the championship."
