What you need to know:
The Black Caps will name the same team that contested the opening two matches against Sri Lanka and Scotland.
Black Caps coach Mike Hesson admitted the run chase against Scotland was “untidy” but said it was pleasing to win the game in 25 overs which gives the side’s net run rate a significant boost.
Tim Southee and Trent Boult were both on hat-tricks early in the Scotland innings, but couldn’t take any more wickets. Dan Vettori and Corey Anderson cleaned up the tail, each taking three scalps.
The English have been lambasted since a 111-run defeat to Australia, with Graham Gooch calling the display “embarrassing” and Phil Tufnell describing it as “schoolboy cricket”.
Only one English batsman (James Taylor) scored over 50 against Australia.
