Villa played four matches for the club without tasting victory in the A-League and has now departed for the United States, where he is the face of Major League Soccer franchise New York City FC.
The arrival - and sudden departure - of the Spaniard prompted a media frenzy the club formerly known as Melbourne Heart could only have dreamed of before their slick off-season makeover.
With a semblance of normality returning to their training ground this week, the City skipper has acknowledged there may have been some adverse consequences to the World Cup and Champions League winner's flying visit.
Asked if Villa's presence had been a distraction, Kisnorbo said: "Maybe a little bit, he's a big, big player, but we just have to worry about ourselves."
The centre-back did refute suggestions that with Villa gone, City's season will start afresh with the clash away to Brisbane Roar this weekend.
"The season for us started Round 1," he said.
"We haven't got the results we wanted but we need to push forward come Saturday night and get the result that we need."
Mike Mulvey's reigning champions are also yet to win in three matches of 2014-15, having had a week off due to Western Sydney's AFC Champions League final commitments.
While both teams will be determined to break their duck at Suncorp Stadium, Kisnorbo claimed City - who went a record-equalling 14 rounds without a victory as Heart last season - aren't ready to panic.
"It's not at the stage yet, of being desperate," he said.
"It's going to be a hard game, two teams that need to pick up points. Hopefully we'll be the team that can do that.
"They're a good team, no doubt about it. They haven't got the results, like ourselves, but ... they've got a lot of good players in there, they play good football. They'll be there to get the points like ourselves."
