Jack Sock and Sam Querrey set up an all-American final at the US Men's Clay Court Championship on Saturday.

The ATP 250 event has been a favourite for the locals, with the 2015 version seeing more Americans in the decider - marking the 13th time in 15 years the host nation has been represented in the title play-off.

Sock trumped third seed Kevin Anderson 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 to reach his first ATP World Tour singles final, while eighth seed Querrey fought past sixth seed Fernando Verdasco 7-5 2-6 6-4.

It will be the first all-American decider in Houston since Andre Agassi beat Andy Roddick in 2003.

Sock had a late start to his 2015 season due to hip surgery, but has hit the ground running - making the fourth round at Indian Wells, and the third round in Miami.

The 22-year-old said he savoured the clay against a power hitter like South Africa's Anderson.

"Kevin is not easy to play on any surface," Sock said.

"I really enjoy playing on clay. I thought it gave me a little more time today against such a big server and big hitter.

"I served pretty well today, was holding pretty comfortably throughout the match. I was able to scrap out a few more points in the second set to get the break and that was enough today.

"I feel like if I'm able to play more and more throughout the tournament, my tennis gets better.

Querrey, the 2010 finalist, is into his 13th ATP World Tour singles decider, having won his past four finals he has competed in.

The 27-year-old's last loss in a final was in the Houston decider five years ago to Juan Ignacio Chela, but he can atone for that on Sunday when he bids for career title number eight.
