Jordan Spieth will get the lion's (or should we say Tiger's) share of the attention this week at the PGA Tour's Valero Texas Open.

You can guess the reasons. One, he's a Texan playing in San Antonio. Two, he's the highest-ranked player in the field. At No. 6 in world golf rankings, Spieth is playing well in his run-up to the Masters.

In addition to Spieth, San Antonio Express-News staff writer John Whisler lists these players to watch during the tournament: Jimmy Walker, a Texan; Phil Mickelson, the highest-profile player in the field; Jim Furyk, an every-week contender; and Dustin Johnson, whose meteoric rise since his return from suspension has him No. 9 in world rankings and No. 4 in FedEx Cup standings.

Play begins Thursday and concludes Sunday at TPC San Antonio's AT&T Oaks Course. Steven Bowditch is defending champion. This year's winner will receive $1,116,000 of the $6 million in prize money.
