Camila Giorgi will have the chance to make amends for her 2014 final defeat at the WTA Katowice Open after she upset the odds to beat Agnieszka Radwanska.

Top seed Radwanska was the favourite to progress and play for her 15th career WTA title after not dropping a set before Saturday's semi-final.

However, it was third seed Giorgi - runner-up to Alize Cornet 12 months ago - who stole the show against the home favourite in a 6-4 6-2 triumph.

Giorgi, who won 81 per cent of her first service points, made the solitary break of the opening set in the fifth game and then crucially staved off a break point for the Pole when serving at 3-2.

World number nine Radwanska then capitulated in the second set, as Giorgi reeled off four straight games - her only sign of nerves coming when she failed on her first two match points when serving at 40-0, before completing the win at the third time of asking.

Awaiting in the final is Anna Karolina Schmiedlova after the eighth seed safely saw off the challenge of Belgium's Alison van Uytvanck 6-4 6-1.

Both players will now play it out to pick up a first career title.
