Georgia vs. Tennessee: Georgia shuts out Tennessee in dominant win at Neyland Stadium image

The Tennessee Volunteers couldn't get anything going on either side of the ball Saturday at Neyland Stadium, and the result was a historic loss and possibly the end of Butch Jones' tenure as Vols head coach.

No. 7 Georgia stayed undefeated in a domination of Tennessee, and won the game 41-0. It is the first shutout of the Volunteers since 1994.

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm only recorded 84 yards and one touchdown passing, but added two more rushing touchdowns on the way to a victory that showcased Georgia's unstoppable multifaceted offense. The Bulldogs ran for 294 yards while the Volunteers only managed 64 rushing yards. Standout Georgia running back Nick Chubb ran for 109 yards in 16 carries.

The Bulldogs used other weapons than Chubb in the running game, too. Sony Michel dashed for 64 yards in 11 carries on the day and Elijah Holyfield recorded 51 yards in seven carries.

The Volunteers pulled Dormandy from under center in the third quarter and replaced him with redshirt freshman Jarrett Guarantano. Dormandy went 5 for 16 and only recorded 64 yards passing. Vols running back John Kelly led the SEC in rushing yards entering Saturday's game, but could only muster 44 yards in 16 carries.

As much as Georgia's offense impressed, Tennessee's offense couldn't stop making mistakes. Tennessee quarterback Quentin Dormandy threw two interceptions, one of them coming on the first drive of the game. Dormandy also knocked a bad snap to the ground in the first half for Georgia to recover.

With the win, Georgia picks up an advantage in the SEC East. Tennessee will need lots of improvement and some luck if it is to challenge for the division this season. Georgia is now on top of the division along with Florida.
