WME-IMG, owners of the UFC, sent out a proposal to companies asking for $10million to sponsor fight elements, according to ESPN, which claims to have obtained a copy of the document.
Tecate are said to have paid a record $5.6m to be the primary sponsor of Mayweather’s bout with Manny Pacquiao in 2015, meaning the five-division champion's return will command almost double the figure.
The $10m primary sponsorship package for Mayweather-McGregor includes:
— Company logo at the center of the ring at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena
— Branding on ring girls, two of the ropes and in the two non-fighter corners
— Sponsorship of the first minute of every round on the broadcast
— $500,000 in tickets
Corners for an individual fighter will cost $5m and include sponsorship to the broadcast corner camera and $250,000 in tickets.
The $20m in potential sponsorship revenue would trump the record total of $13.2 million from five companies to sponsor Mayweather-Pacquiao.
