It's been quite a week for the Ohio State athletic program, and it's going to get better at the ESPYs.
George, who won the Heisman Trophy at Ohio State in 1995, will honor Ohio State for winning this year's men's Capital One Cup at the ESPYs on Wednesday. It's the Buckeyes first time winning the award. Ohio State finished with 111 points in the competition. The school won a national championship in volleyball and had top-10 finishes in football, gymnastics, rifle, wrestling, lacrosse and tennis.

"To be an alumni Ohio State, it's always great to recognize a school to win its first Capital One Cup trophy," George told Sporting News. "If you think about the championships, the top-five finishes, football and basketball and the degree of all the sports at Ohio State, it's pretty doggone special. It's a national stage and a huge honor."
A USA Today article reported Ohio State was ranked as the top school in the nation for combined success in football and education, according to a ranking by College Factual. George wasn't surprised by that either. He was able to enjoy that at Ohio State before a NFL career in which he rushed for 10,441 yards over nine seasons.
"Nothing compares to the football atmosphere you have on Saturdays and the ability to explore student life within the campus,” George said. “The balance between the two (at Ohio State) is amazing."
WNBA superstar Nenka Ogwumike will represent Stanford, who won the women's Capital One Cup at the event. The Capital One Cup awards $200,000 in student-athlete scholarships to the winning schools.
