Darren Sproles had the longest punt return of his excellent career on Sunday, going 89 yards up the left sideline to score a touchdown for the Eagles against the Jets.

The 54-yard punt from New York's Ryan Quigley looked good, going toward the sideline, but he actually outkicked his coverage a little bit. That gave Sproles some open field before he had to dodge any tacklers. Sproles then did just that, evading at least four clear opportunities for the Jets to bring him down. The Eagles took a 10-0 lead, their largest of the young season.

Sproles, who had a career-long 82-yard punt return for a touchdown last year against the 49ers, now has six career punt returns for touchdowns, as well as two kickoff return scores.

Sproles' return was the second-longest punt runback for a touchdown in Eagles history, nine yards short of the 98-yarder by Damaris Johnson in 2012 at Dallas.
