This week's Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, is competing against one of the European Tour's premier events, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club in Surrey County, England. But the Colonial still boasts a strong field every year.
Jordan Spieth and defending champion Adam Scott headline the field and are part of the featured groups for the first two rounds.

Adam Scott, Patrick Reed, Jason Dufner: Scott returns to the venue where he completed his "Texas Slam" last year. He will hope to find friendly vibes again as he continues to struggle with his game. Dufner lost in a playoff to Scott last year; his game has taken an even bigger nosedive since then. Reed made headlines off the course this week when he decided to pull out of the BMW PGA and quietly slip into this field. After an opening-round 66, Reed didn't break par again last week.
Tee times: 9:06 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Thursday; 1:56 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Friday
Jordan Spieth, Hunter Mahan, Steve Stricker: Spieth is favored this week playing in his home town, but the ultra-talented 21-year-old hasn't won a PGA Tour event in his home state. Could this be his week? Mahan has been inconsistent in recent seasons, but he can go low at any time. Stricker is in semi-retirement and is very selective about his tournaments, so there must be something he likes about this course.
Tee times: 1:56 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Thursday; 9:06 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Friday
Jimmy Walker, James Hahn, Brandt Snedeker: All three have won on tour this year (Walker twice), yet none of them are currently in great form. Snedeker has struggled since winning the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach. Hahn has posted one top 30 in five starts since his win. Walker won the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Valero Texas Open, so he should be comfortable here.
Tee times: 1:45 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Thursday: 8:55 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Friday
Other groups to watch
