Josh Childress helped the Sydney Kings stun the New Zealand Breakers in the NBL and the Cairns Taipans capitalised.
Childress hit 28 points as the Kings upset the Breakers 101-81 at Vector Arena in New Zealand.
The American also had six rebounds and three assists as the Breakers' winning run was ended at five.
Tom Garlepp managed 16 points, while Jason Cadee and Cody Ellis both had 13 off the bench.
Cedric Jackson's 21 points and seven assists were not enough for the Breakers.
The Kings were well beaten 105-86 by the Adelaide 36ers on Sunday.
The Taipans took their chance and moved top of the ladder with a 92-66 thrashing of the Perth Wildcats.
Torrey Craig had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Taipans.
A day earlier, the Wildcats had beaten the Townsville Crocodiles 93-85 despite Brian Conklin's 28 points for the hosts.
The struggling Wollongong Hawks were beaten once more, going down to the Adelaide 36ers 89-85.
In Sunday's late game, Townsville claimed their eighth win of the season with an 81-69 victory over Melbourne United.
