The last time Frank Vogel got fired, it was on the heels of a first-round playoff loss by the Pacers. He didn't come close to making it that far in Orlando.

The Magic announced Thursday night (AEST) it has parted ways with the coach after two seasons. Not only did Vogel fail to lead Orlando to the playoffs, the Magic's record got worse in each of his two seasons after replacing Scott Skiles.
Orlando wrapped up its season Wednesday with a 25-57 record, four games worse than in Vogel's first season and 10 wins shy of what Skiles achieved in his lone campaign with the team.
Add in an unsuccessful run before that under Jacque Vaughn and Orlando hasn't made the playoffs in six years.
"We would like to thank Frank for his contributions to the Orlando Magic," president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said in a release.
"We appreciate the sacrifices he made as head coach and certainly wish him and his family well going forward."
Among the candidates who could step into the void, according to the Orlando Sentinel: former New Orleans coach Monty Williams, former Grizzlies coach David Fizdale, and Raptors G League coach Jerry Stackhouse, who worked with Weltman in Toronto.
Vogel, 44, led the Pacers to the playoffs in five of his six seasons in Indiana.
Despite his challenging run in Orlando, his career coaching record is above .500 at 304-291.
