Fox was born in Marseille, France before moving to Penrith, Australia with her family as a child.
Her father, Richard Fox, is British, while her mother, Myriam Fox-Jerusalmi, is French. Both competed in Olympic canoeing themselves.
Noémie, like her sister Jessica, is fluent in both English and French.
While she is just representing Australia in kayak cross at Paris 2024, Fox has competed in various canoe and kayak events across her career.
In 2015, she made her senior international debut at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup Championship in Krakow, Poland.
Fox's first of three career medals to date came in 2017 when she was part of the World Cup silver medal-winning team in the C-1 event.
She has also won two gold medals at the same tournament – team triumphs in C1 (2019) and K1 (2023).

While her sister Jessica debuted at the Olympics in 2012, Noémie has had to be more patient.
She earned her spot at Paris 2024 by taking out the silver medal in the kayak cross event at this year's Canoe Slalom World Cup.
