Australia's Olympic team has revealed their official kit for the Paris 2024 games with the traditional green and gold colours retained.

The uniform was unveiled in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House at Mrs Macquarie's Chair on Thursday morning in front of media and officials.

With the Paris 2024 Olympics to begin on July 26, The Sporting News has all the details on the team's kit.

Indigenous arrow patterns known as Japonism yagasuri feature on all variations of the Australian Olympic team kit.

Australian athletes in attendance at the launch include Lydia Williams, Kelsey-Lee Barber, Izzi Batt-Doyle, Brandon Starc, Maurice Longbottom, Charlotte Caslick, Eddie Ockenden, Mariah Williams, Eileen Cikamatana and Grae Morris.

When do the Paris Olympics 2024 start?

This year's Olympic Games will technically begin two days before the opening ceremony.

The first events – group stage football and rugby sevens pool matches – will start on Wednesday, July 24.

On Thursday, July 25, there will be more action with archery and handball thrown into the mix.

When is the Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony? 

  • Olympics 2024 opening ceremony date: July 26

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, July 26. No competition events are scheduled for that date, with full focus to be on France's capital.

In a first for the Games, the ceremony will not be held in a stadium.

Rather, athletes will be showcased as they travel along the Seine – Paris' iconic river.

National delegations will have individual boats, parading for 6km and finishing at the Trocadéro, where the traditional elements of the Olympic protocol will take place.

It is also an event for Parisiens, with free admission for the majority of spectators.
