Tanner Glass on rumored snub by fans: 'That's not what happened' image

Tanner Glass isn't playing well; of 368 forwards with at least 400 minutes played this season, he's 367th with 0.37 points/60 minutes. The Rangers' puck possession numbers drop significantly when he's on the ice, as do those of the players who skate with him.

So no, things aren't going according to plan, and that, predictably, has made him a target for Rangers fans. It makes sense that they'd take it too far, though; a Twitter rumor last week had fans asking for his autograph, then turning their backs on him.

For what it's worth, Glass told XN Sports' Sean Hartnett that, on his end, that's not how things played out.

Good. That wouldn't be cool. Glass hasn't been able to contribute much to the Rangers beyond tough-to-quantify "toughness," and criticism for that is part of the territory, but clowning him after a game would be too much.

Glass answered the question as part of a longer story about his perception of his role, and it's worth a read.
