P.K. Subban is facing new punishment in his breakout season with the Montreal Canadiens. On Friday, the NHL announced it fined Subban for "diving/embellishment."
It's the third such incident for Subban this season. He was fined $2,000 after dives in Jan. 6's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Jan. 29's game against the New York Rangers. The first misstep drew a warning from the league. This time, he was fined for diving during March 12's game against the Ottawa Senators.
This time, the NHL ordered Subban to pay $3,000. Subban is the first player nailed three times for the infraction.

Another diving incident will not only cost Subban $4,000, but the league will fine coach Michel Therrian $2,000.
NHL Rule 64 was approved by the Board of Governors and the NHL Players' Association. It's aim: "Bring attention to and more seriously penalize players (and teams) who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties."
Also cited by the NHL this season: Richard Panik, Michal Neuvirth, Cal Clutterbuck, Vincent Trocheck, Gustav Nyquist and James Neal.
Subban, a defenseman, didn't draw a penalty on the play that resulted in his latest fine. NHL disciplinarians said he went down too easily on a slight hook by the Sens' Erik Condra.
Here's video of the incident. Subban goes down at the blue line early in the replay in the foreground.
