Brad Marchand slammed the door on the Philadelphia Flyers, turning a game they needed in the race for the Stanley Cup playoffs into a crucial win for the Boston Bruins.

Marchand tied the game with a power-play goal with 14 seconds left in regulation and ended it in overtime.

Saturday's 3-2 victory in Boston pushed the Bruins five points ahead of the Flyers in a tight race for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth.

"Every night's going to be like a playoff game and tonight's was especially," Marchand told The Boston Herald. "To win in the fashion that we did is a big morale boost for the guys. And we want to feed off of it."

It's a huge win for the Bruins, given the games ahead of them in the season's final month.

"We do have a very tough stretch coming up," Marchand told NESN.com. "Eleven games in 18 days and a lot of tough teams. A lot of teams we're battling with to get in the playoffs."

Coach Claude Julien pulled goalie Tuukka Rask when the Bruins got a power play in the final minutes of regulation. Marchand tipped defenseman Dougie Hamilton's shot past Steve Mason to get the equalizer.

His overtime goal was the 21st for Marchand, who made the Flyers pay after Sean Couturier's turnover in the neutral zone.

The Flyers now must find a way to jump ahead of the Bruins to make the playoff field. Good luck; in addition to being five points ahead, the Bruins also have two games in hand.
