Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19 and is out indefinitely.
He will miss Saturday’s game against Boston College, the school announced, and his status beyond then is uncertain. He is arguably the biggest star in college football to test positive for COVID-19.
No other Clemson players have reported a positive test as of Thursday night, according to Stadium.
“Trevor has authorized us this evening to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation," Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement. "He is doing well with mild symptoms but will not be available for this week’s game."

The junior quarterback leads the No. 1 team in the country with 1,833 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He's expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lawrence has not missed a start since taking over for Kelly Bryant as a freshman, and is 31-1 as a starter. Lawrence is among the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy, an award he has yet to be a finalist for despite his collegiate success.
Clemson is 6-0 this season and the heavy favorite against Boston College on Saturday, even if freshman D.J. Uiagalelei starts in Lawrence's place. It remains to be seen whether Lawrence will be available for the Nov. 7 showdown at No. 4 Notre Dame.

A positive test for COVID-19 requires 10 days of isolation, at minimum.
That will depend in part on which day Lawrence tested positive.
