Colts GM says Trent Richardson was suspended during playoffs image

Trent Richardson’s days with the Colts appear to be numbered.

Colts GM Ryan Grigson confirmed that the running back was suspended two games during the playoffs, according to Mike Wells of ESPN. Wells tweeted that Grigson was non-committal on bringing Richardson back next season.

Grigson did not elaborate as to why Richardson was suspended, other than “personal reasons.”

Richardson ran for 519 yards for Indianapolis this season, but scored just three touchdowns and averaged 3.3 yards per carry. He did not record a carry during the postseason and was deactivated against both Denver and New England.

After the Denver game, he was adamant that he would not be held out of a game again.

"That situation will never happen to me again," Richardson told IndyStar.com. "Anybody can quote me, today, because it's never going to happen again."

The third overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft has rushed for just 2,032 yards in his three-year career.
