The Chiefs' star tight end is a cast member on Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series, "Grotesquerie," a horror show in which "a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community."

As his superstar status has grown over the past few years, Kelce is taking yet another step into Hollywood with his appearance on the show.

The Sporting News has you covered with all of the information you need on Kelce's upcoming role on "Grotesquerie," how to watch the show, a guide to its episodes, and where to find the trailer.

What episode will Travis Kelce debut on Grotesquerie?

Kelce made his first "Grotesquerie" appearance in episode 3, which first aired on Oct. 2.

The show debuted its first two episodes on Sept. 25, so fans had to wait one extra week to see the Chiefs' star tight end on the big screen.

Travis Kelce's role on Grotesquerie, explained

Murphy and the rest of the show's creators didn't go into the specifics of Kelce's role ahead of the episode, which helped build suspense for his appearance.

On the show's page on FX's website, each actor and actress was listed with their role except for Kelce. Niecy Nash-Betts stars as "Detective Lois Tryon," and other roles are listed, but Kelce's name appeared without a role next to it.

Murphy and FX kept the football star's exact role in the show a secret for a while, but he showed up on screen on Oct. 2 as hospital orderly Ed Lachlan.

Spoilers ahead: Kelce's character strolled onto the scene in the final minutes of the third episode, first exchanging flirty banter with Nash-Betts' Tryon and then giving her an ominous warning. After Tryon ended up in a car accident, Lachlan appeared in her hospital room in his role as an orderly, then helped her escape her bed.

Ahead of the episode, Murphy talked Kelce's interest and how he got involved in the show. Per Deadline, Kelce expressed his eagerness to get into acting, and Murphy specifically wrote the role in "Grotesquerie" for the tight end.

"He worked with an acting coach for several months. He showed up off book. He knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional. He was so committed," Murphy said, per Deadline. "He kept saying to me, ‘I’m real coachable. Coach me, coach me.’ So I did, and he ended up being a delight, and I would love to continue working with him on this and other things. I cannot say enough about him as a leader. He’s just the kindest, sweetest…everything you think about him is true.”

In May, Kelce mentioned on his "New Heights" podcast with Jason Kelce that filming the show had been "so much fun" and that he wasn't sure how many episodes he'd be in, as he'd just been "taking it scene-by-scene." Even then though, Kelce said he didn't "want to give away too much."

Kelce has had some other appearances in the TV world, but not in a full acting role like this. He had his dating show, "Catching Kelce," appeared as himself in the first episode of 2020's "Moonbase 8," and made a guest appearance on "Saturday Night Live."

He's also set to host "Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?," which comes out in October, and will reportedly be involved in "Happy Gilmore 2," according to Adam Sandler himself.

Grotesquerie trailer

Kelce appears before the trailer starts to welcome viewers and tell them they "might see some familiar faces."

In the trailer, Kelce has just one line: "There's no future after this," which he says with a close-up shot.

Kelce's role in "Grotesquerie" has been teased by the show's creators, with information still limited as to how he'll appear. However, the premiere on Wednesday will mark another step into the spotlight for Kelce, who's currently on a quest to three-peat with the Chiefs this NFL season.
