Tony Romo among possible Bills QB targets if Tyrod Taylor doesn't stick image

The Bills still have a quarterback decision to make.

Don't forget Buffalo gave itself an option on the contract Tyrod Taylor signed over the summer, and the team after the season can choose to pick up or drop the remainder of the 27-year-old QB's five-year deal.

Not only have the Bills not yet made that decision, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, but they will not rule out bringing in a veteran if they choose not to pick up Taylor's contract.

"If the Bills decide Taylor is not their quarterback of the future, expect them to be active in the veteran quarterback market with a possible eye on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo," Rapoport reported Sunday morning. "Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick also could be on their radar."

Taylor, who signed with Buffalo as a free agent in 2015 after spending his first four NFL seasons backing up Joe Flacco in Baltimore, has started 26 games over the last two seasons for the Bills. He has completed 62.2 of his passes and thrown for 5,327 yards, 31 touchdowns and 11 picks while maintaining a 92.3 average QB rating in those starts.

The quarterback's contract, which if picked up totals $90 million over five years with $9.5 million guaranteed, would bring Buffalo a cap hit of almost $16 million in 2017.

Romo's hefty contract likely would need restructured if the Cowboys decide to trade him. But, as SN pointed out in October, if Dallas plans to trade Romo, it should do so sooner than later.
