Tom Brady isn't thrilled with his punishment for his role in the Deflategate scandal, but merchandise retailers are laughing all the way to the bank.

According to data from Fanatics, the largest retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise, jersey sales for the Patriots quarterback have spiked 100 percent since his four-game suspension was announced Monday.

"Our sense is fans are rallying behind Brady and the Patriots and supporting them," Jack Boyle, president of merchandising for Fanatics, said, via CNBC.

Since the Wells Report was released on May 6, Brady has been the NFL's third-best-selling jersey on the site after top draft picks Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota. Brady ranked sixth in jersey sales prior to the release of the Wells Report.

"We generally do not see an overall lift in sales if the news with a team is not favorable," Boyle added.

Brady isn't the only one who saw a surge in sales. The Patriots are the second highest-selling NFL team on the site after the Cowboys.
