It appears that Taylor Swift is becoming a staple at Chiefs games amid her budding romance with Travis Kelce.

Just how common has her presence become? She evidently has taken the time to develop a celebratory handshake with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City's star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The 33-year-old pop star was caught on camera celebrating a touchdown during the Chiefs' 31-17 win over the Chargers in Week 7. After jumping up and down in jubilation, Swift and Mahomes stopped their celebrations to break out the handshake.

Below is a look at the handshake, which the NFL posted to social media shortly after it appeared on the broadcast.

The handshake was a new addition to Swift's in-game routine. It appeared that she and Mahomes worked out the celebration before the game, as it wasn't perfect but it at least has some semblance of being rehearsed.

Here's how to do Swift and Mahomes' handshake.

How to do the Brittany Mahomes, Taylor Swift handshake

The Mahomes and Swift handshake is pretty simple to perform. All you have to do is the following:

  • Slap your partner's hand palm-to-palm
  • Slap your partner's hand back-to-back
  • Clasp your partner's hand like you are going to arm-wrestle them
  • Pull together and bump hips.

Yes, indeed. It's that simple.

Soon, that celebration may be among the most popular for combination and NFL fans and Swifties. And among the latter, Swift's new friendship bracelet — which has an "87" on it in honor of Kelce's jersey — may become the newest hot accessory.

We'll soon see if Swift attends more of the Chiefs games and if she adds anything else to her in-game repertoire.

But one thing is for sure: Chiefs fans should be rooting for her to keep showing up. Why? Because Kelce entered Sunday's game averaging 99 yards per game with Swift in attendance and just 46.5 yards per game when she isn't in attendance.

And that number will only go up after Kelce's 179-yard outing against the Chargers in Week 7.
