Fellow performer John Legend is on tap to sing "America the Beautiful" during the pregame festivities, which will be televised by NBC.

In addition, actress Treshelle Edmond ("Glee") will perform both songs in American Sign Language.

Menzel will be the eighth consecutive female anthem singer for the Super Bowl. The last male artist to get the nod was Billy Joel at Super Bowl XLI in Miami.

The NFL previously announced Katy Perry as the halftime entertainment.
