One generation of NFL fans grew up with the Patriots' dynasty. After Super Bowl 58, it's fair to say the next generation of fans is growing up with a dynasty of its own.

The Chiefs left no doubt that their run is a dynasty by every definition of the word on Sunday. Kansas City fell behind 10-0 in the first half at Allegiant Stadium, but anyone who has seen Patrick Mahomes play over the last six seasons knew that didn't mean much. Steve Spagnuolo's defense adjusted accordingly, the Chiefs took advantage of key mistakes — including a botched 49ers punt return that set up Kansas City's first touchdown of the night — and it became a heavyweight fight down the stretch.

When push came to shove, only one team found the end zone. The Chiefs and 49ers traded field goals late in regulation, setting up the second overtime period in Super Bowl history, but Mahomes refused to settle for a field goal in overtime. After the Chiefs' defense got a crucial stop and forced a go-ahead field goal by Jake Moody, Mahomes and the offense marched down the field and won on a touchdown catch by Mecole Hardman.

The Chiefs didn't often look like themselves in 2023. The offense struggled more than ever, and they were forced to play two road playoff games just to return to the Super Bowl. In the end, it only fueled them. Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl champion, adding to his pristine legacy, while Andy Reid and Travis Kelce each have a third title that will only pad a pair of Hall of Fame careers.

For the 49ers, Super Bowl 58 represents yet another missed opportunity for a franchise that has been at the doorstep of a championship three times in the last 12 seasons. Kyle Shanahan has blown three double-digit Super Bowl leads as a head coach or coordinator, and San Francisco will enter next season sitting on a 30-year title drought knowing all it took was one defensive stop to end it.

The Chiefs entered 2023 as the hunted and leave as the hunted. Their roster might not be identical in 2024 as they pursue the first three-peat in Super Bowl history, but with Mahomes at quarterback, the finer details might not matter so much.

The Sporting News tracked live scoring updates and highlights from Super Bowl 58 between the Chiefs and 49ers. Check out all of the key moments you might have missed from Kansas City's second consecutive title.

(All times Eastern)

Final: Chiefs 25, 49ers 22

10:47 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — Mecole Hardman scores the touchdown the Chiefs are back-to-back Super Bowl champions! Many have tried to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs, but few have done it. The 49ers' title drought will reach three decades.

10:46 p.m. — Kelce plows ahead for the first down! The Chiefs are mere yards away from a championship.

10:45 p.m. — Mahomes takes off and puts the Chiefs 13 yards away from a championship. The 49ers' defense will have to dig deep here to force a field goal.

10:44 p.m. — Pacheco is a half-yard short on second down.

10:42 p.m. — Rice picks up the first down! The 49ers' defense broke down after the 2nd & 14, and now the Chiefs are on the edge of field goal range.

10:41 p.m. — A redemption catch by Valdes-Scantling makes it much more manageable at 3rd & 6.

10:40 p.m. — Wow, what looked like a short gain for Valdes-Scantling turns into lost yardage after he started running backwards.

10:40 p.m. — Mahomes easily runs for a first down. We play on.

10:39 p.m. — It's 4th & 1 after a massive stop of Pacheco. A stop here wins the Super Bowl for the 49ers.

10:38 p.m. — It's 3rd & 1 for the Chiefs after a catch by Rice. Obviously, Kansas City has two downs to work with here.

49ers 22, Chiefs 19

10:35 p.m. FIELD GOAL — It wasn't pretty, but Moody knocks it through. The 49ers find themselves in the same position as before: a stop wins a championship.

10:34 p.m. — Pressure forces Purdy to throw it away on third down, and now Moody is set to come out to try and give the 49ers the lead.

10:33 p.m. — McCaffrey has the 49ers down to about the 8-yard line after the Chiefs opt against challenging whether Juszczyk's catch was a catch.

10:32 p.m. — What a play by Juszczyk to pick up a first down!

10:31 p.m. — Now a holding call pushes the 49ers out of the red zone...it would be a 47-yard field goal from here, though San Francisco has at least a couple downs to work with.

10:30 p.m. — The 49ers are running McCaffrey right into the red zone.

10:29 p.m. — Purdy makes a heads-up play under pressure and flips the ball to McCaffrey, who runs down the sideline all the way into field goal range. Meanwhile, Kittle is back on the sideline with his helmet on.

10:28 p.m. — George Kittle is in the locker room with a shoulder injury.

10:27 p.m. — Purdy hits Aiyuk on third down, and the 49ers are now approaching midfield. A gutsy call by Shanahan to put the ball in Purdy's hands on such a critical play needing only two yards.

10:26 p.m. — The 49ers were all out of sorts to start this drive, but they get a chance to reset here thanks to that penalty. Can they take advantage?

10:25 p.m. — Purdy's pass is knocked to the ground on 3rd & 13, but a defensive holding call by Trent McDuffie gifts the 49ers a first down. Wow.

10:24 p.m. — Shanahan goes ultra conservative on second down as McCaffrey barely gets two yards. It's 3rd & 13.

10:24 p.m. — Now a false start backs up the 49ers, who don't look too comfortable right now. They need a big play.

10:23 p.m. — Purdy is nearly intercepted on his first pass of overtime. That was a dangerous one.

10:22 p.m. — The 49ers will start with the ball. Both teams will have a chance to possess.

End of regulation: 49ers 19, Chiefs 19

10:18 p.m. — Overtime in Las Vegas. Here are the new rules.

49ers 19, Chiefs 19

10:16 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Butker is good. It's 19-19. We're three seconds away from the second overtime game in Super Bowl history.

10:15 p.m. — A low snap leads to a Mahomes incompletion, and the Chiefs aren't going to risk it: Butker is coming on to force overtime.

10:14 p.m. — The Chiefs have 10 seconds and 11 yards to win the game.

10:13 p.m. — Kelce gets free and has the Chiefs down to the 11-yard line with nine seconds remaining! Kansas City has a shot at the end zone. A huge mistake by the 49ers' defense.

10:12 p.m. — Armstead prevents what could've been a huge run by Mahomes, who opts against spiking it and simply throws the ball away on second down. It's 3rd & 7. This would make a makeable field goal for Butker, but a long one.

10:10 p.m. — The 49ers had a huge opportunity on 3rd & 2, but they let Jerick McKinnon pick up a first down and at least make it an easier field goal try for Butker.

10:09 p.m. — Now Mahomes finds Noah Gray for a first down. The Chiefs are already knocking on the doorstep of Butker's range.

10:08 p.m. — Mahomes opens this drive with a first down pass to Kelce.

49ers 19, Chiefs 16

10:06 p.m. FIELD GOAL — JAKE. MOODY. The rookie bounces back from a blocked extra point and drills a 53-yard field goal to put the 49ers in front. That would've been good from 63. San Francisco is one defensive stop away from a championship, but that's not easy with Harrison Butker's leg on the other side.

10:05 p.m. — The biggest third down of Brock Purdy's life is a flop: The Chiefs bring pressure and deflect his pass for an incompletion. All of the pressure in the world is on Jake Moody.

10:02 p.m. — The 49ers face a massive 3rd & 4 after the two-minute warning...this is fringe range for Moody. How aggressive will Shanahan get?

10:00 p.m. — McCaffrey picks up a first down as the clock slowly ticks away...there are less than four minutes remaining.

9:58 p.m. — An end-around by Deebo Samuel takes the 49ers close to field goal range, though Moody's range is pretty uncertain considering his up-and-down night tonight. George Karlaftis is down for Kansas City, favoring his hand.

9:57 p.m. — Jauan Jennings just might be Super Bowl MVP if the 49ers win. He makes a great grab on an aggressive pass by Purdy to jumpstart San Francisco's drive.

49ers 16, Chiefs 16

9:54 p.m. FIELD GOAL — For the second consecutive year, we are TIED in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. That miss by Moody looms large. Here's a monumental moment for Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan, who have nearly six minutes to cook up what could be a championship-winning drive.

9:53 p.m. — Mahomes is SACKED on 3rd & Goal. The 49ers are doing a great job of preventing those signature Mahomes runs that have burned so many defenses this season. The Chiefs will aim to tie it here.

9:50 p.m. — Pacheco is running angry and has the Chiefs set up with 1st & Goal from the 4.

9:49 p.m. — There was no one near Justin Watson, and the Chiefs are in business again. Steve Wilks' defense has let too many receivers get wide open over these last two drives.

9:48 p.m. — The 49ers get the Chiefs to 3rd & 10, but they somehow let Kelce get wide open for another first down. Kansas City is up to midfield.

9:46 p.m. — Mahomes quickly finds Kelce for a first down to get the Chiefs' drive started.

49ers 16, Chiefs 13

9:41 p.m. — The extra effort by Jauan Jennings is enough for the touchdown! The 49ers are back in front. However...Moody's extra point is BLOCKED, keeping the Chiefs within a field goal.

9:40 p.m. — George Kittle, who's been silent tonight, just barely picks up the first down. That was a gutsy call by Shanahan and a hold-your-breath moment for the 49ers.

9:39 p.m. — McCaffrey loses a yard on 3rd & 2 in the red zone, a potentially devastating moment for San Francisco. Even a run for no gain would've likely been enough to go for it. Will they do it anyway?

9:37 p.m. — Purdy finds an open Aiyuk for the first down and more to start the quarter. San Francisco is in field goal range.

End of third quarter: Chiefs 13, 49ers 10

9:33 p.m. — Kyle Juszczyk picks up another first down as the clock runs out on the third quarter. 15 minutes to go.

9:31 p.m. — The 49ers finally get a first down, courtesy of Jauan Jennings. The big-name receivers continue to make a minimal impact in this game, but Jennings has answered the call.

9:29 p.m. — Purdy throws a wobbly incompletion and Jon Feliciano is down for the 49ers. This has been a brutal quarter for the 49ers' offense on all fronts.

Chiefs 13, 49ers 10

9:24 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — The Chiefs have the lead. Mahomes finds Marquez Valdes-Scantling immediately after the turnover, and the 49ers' mistake puts Kansas City in front.

9:23 p.m. FUMBLE — The 49ers are again putting on a masterclass at how to blow a lead in the Super Bowl. They can't field the punt, the Chiefs recover, and now Kansas City takes over in the red zone.

9:22 p.m. — And now the 49ers quickly force a three-and-out as pressure forces an incompletion on 3rd & short. San Francisco is getting the ball back. Around and around we go...

9:20 p.m. — Purdy throws back-to-back incompletions, and the 49ers really have no answers for Steve Spagnuolo's defense right now. They'll punt again, giving the Chiefs a chance to take their first lead.

9:17 p.m. — Deebo Samuel is back in the game for a 49ers offense that badly needs a spark.

49ers 10, Chiefs 6

9:14 p.m. FIELD GOAL — That's TWO Super Bowl-record field goals tonight as Butker sends it through from 57. The Chiefs don't have a touchdown yet, but they're gaining on the 49ers ever so slowly.

9:13 p.m. — Mahomes finds Hardman on 3rd & 8, but the 49ers' defense quickly recognizes the play and doesn't let him get far. Harrison Butker is coming on for a 57-yard field goal try.

9:11 p.m. — Mahomes uses his legs again and picks up more than 20 yards. The Chiefs are quickly past midfield.

9:10 p.m. — Mahomes does what he often does best and scrambles for a first down after the 49ers brought pressure.

9:09 p.m. — Deebo Samuel is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

9:08 p.m. — This time, Kelce actually does get the first down to start the Chiefs' latest drive.

9:04 p.m. — Kittle can't catch up to Purdy's pass on 3rd & 11, and the 49ers waste yet another opportunity to make this lead a little more comfortable. Deebo Samuel is down in pain after the play.

9:02 p.m. — Both of these offenses are moving backwards as Jauan Jennings loses eight yards on a desperation toss from Purdy. Steve Spagnuolo has certainly adjusted.

9:00 p.m. — An odd sequence there as Reid used a timeout after Kelce was ruled a yard short but didn't challenge what could've been a bang-bang call. The Chiefs are down to two timeouts and now have to get another stop to keep this a one-possession game.

8:57 p.m. — Wow, the Chiefs nearly got the first down thanks to Travis Kelce's muscle but then get stopped on 3rd & 1. They're less than a yard from the first down, but it's too risky to go for it on this end of the field. The 49ers are getting the ball back.

8:54 p.m. — Mahomes tries to give the Chiefs some instant breathing room but overthrows Marquez Valdes-Scantling downfield.

8:52 p.m. — Mitch Wishnowsky comes through with a beautiful punt to pin the Chiefs at the one. The 49ers continue to win the field position battle.

8:51 p.m. — Purdy picks up four yards with his legs, but that's not enough. San Francisco will punt it away as the Chiefs get a crucial stop after the turnover.

8:50 p.m. — It's quickly 3rd & 15 for the 49ers as Purdy tries to get something going.

8:48 p.m. INTERCEPTION — A rare overthrow by Mahomes on third down is picked off by Ji'Ayir Brown! The rookie is playing in place of Talanoa Hufanga and gives the 49ers their second turnover of the night.

8:47 p.m. — A brutal start as the ball gets away and Pacheco recovers it for a 12-yard loss. It's 2nd & 22 almost instantly.

8:39 p.m. — Usher wraps up with guests Lil Jon, Ludacris, Alicia Keys and Will.I.Am. A star-studded group. It's almost time to get back to football, with a huge defensive drive coming up for the 49ers if they want to maintain their lead.

8:36 p.m. — Now Ludacris is on stage!

8:35 p.m. — Lil Jon and H.E.R. are also on stage as guests. A big group after Rihanna handled the halftime show on her own a year ago.

8:31 p.m. — Alicia Keys joins Usher on stage in Las Vegas.

8:25 p.m. — Usher has taken the stage at Allegiant Stadium!

8:22 p.m. — Usher isn't out on stage yet, but you can follow his halftime show live here.

End of first quarter: 49ers 10, Chiefs 3

8:13 p.m. — The 49ers run one play, then opt to take it to halftime. They lead by seven, but the Chiefs open the second half with the ball. It's about time for Usher.

49ers 10, Chiefs 3

8:10 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Butker drills the field goal, and the Chiefs have the deficit down to one possession. They'll also get the ball to start the second half. The 49ers have 20 seconds here.

8:09 p.m. — Mahomes gets taken down on 3rd & 5, and that takes the fourth down decision out of Reid's hands. Harrison Butker will come on for a short field goal.

8:07 p.m. — Andy Reid holds his second timeout until the 31-second mark. It's 3rd & 5 for Kansas City.

8:04 p.m. — An 11-yard gain by Rashee Rice has the Chiefs down to the 49ers' 14-yard line with just over a minute left in the half. This is a huge moment for San Francisco's offense.

8:02 p.m. — There's the first major drop of the game by a Chiefs receiver as Watson drops one in the open field. Kansas City, on the edge of Harrison Butker's range, is hoping to at least come away with a field goal here.

8:01 p.m. — A big play for the Chiefs as Mahomes finds Justin Watson for 21 yards. It ended up being a free play, anyway, as Fred Warner was called for holding.

7:57 p.m. — Nick Bosa makes a play and brings down Clyde Edwards-Helaire, so the Chiefs will have a critical 3rd & 4 after the two-minute warning. They're still on their side of the field.

7:56 p.m. — The Chiefs pick up 14 yards between the first two plays of their drive, so that's a relief for Kansas City after a sluggish start to this game.

49ers 10, Chiefs 0

7:50 p.m. TOUCHDOWN — WHAT A PLAY! McCaffrey catches a touchdown pass from Jauan Jennings. Yes, Jauan Jennings. Shanahan dug deep into his bag of tricks and dials up a risky play that goes all the way to the end zone.

7:47 p.m. — L'Jarius Sneed, who was on the other side of this two weeks ago, gets hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and and gives the 49ers their 11th first down. The Chiefs have only 3.

7:46 p.m. — The 49ers are past midfield as McCaffrey picks up another first down. There hasn't been a lot of scoring so far, but San Francisco is winning the field position game by at least generating some first downs.

7:45 p.m. — Samuel drops a low pass from Purdy to start the drive, but Purdy goes right back to him for a first down.

7:43 p.m. — It is indeed an Achilles injury for Greenlaw.

7:40 p.m. — Arik Armstead prevents Mahomes from taking off on 3rd & long, so it'll be a punt and potentially strong field position for the 49ers. San Francisco's defense responded immediately despite losing Greenlaw in such bizarre fashion.

7:39 p.m. — Greenlaw is being carted to the locker room, and you have to wonder about the Achilles there.

7:38 p.m. — Mahomes is called for intentional grounding to start the drive. His weapons were well-covered there.

7:37 p.m. — 49ers LB Dre Greenlaw appeared to seriously hurt himself running onto the field after the punt. That would be a major loss for San Francisco.

7:36 p.m. — This does look like a slight overreaction.

7:33 p.m. — Now Richie James muffs the punt, but he's able to recover and avoid complete disaster.

7:32 p.m. — Purdy tries to evade pressure on 3rd & 8 but can't get away. The 49ers will punt, and this is officially a defensive battle if it wasn't already clear.

7:31 p.m. — Video shows Travis Kelce fuming at Andy Reid after Pacheco's fumble. He wasn't in the game on the play.

7:30 p.m. — The 49ers' drive starts with a Purdy run and a Nick Bolton horsecollar tackle. The second penalty of the night against Kansas City.

7:26 p.m. FUMBLE — Oh no! Pacheco is stripped, and the 49ers have an easy recover. What a sequence. San Francisco won't have strong field position, but the Chiefs return the favor and waste their biggest scoring opportunity of the night so far.

7:25 p.m. — Woah! Mecole Hardman, who was borderline unplayable in recent weeks due to fumbling issues, catches a 52-yard strike from Mahomes. What a play. The Chiefs have 1st & Goal.

7:24 p.m. — The 49ers force a 3rd & 1, but Rashee Rice is easily able to pick up the first and one or two more yards.

49ers 3, Chiefs 0

7:19 p.m. FIELD GOAL — Wow, Shanahan puts his faith in rookie Jake Moody, and Moody delivers with a perfect 55-yard field goal. The longest field goal in Super Bowl history! The 49ers strike first.

7:18 p.m. — Shanahan goes aggressive, and a pretty good pass from Purdy is knocked away by Trent McDuffie. A great play by McDuffie, who isn't penalized despite the 49ers' protests. Will we see a long field goal try here?

End of first quarter: 49ers 0, Chiefs 0

7:15 p.m. — McCaffrey gets dropped for a sizable loss on 2nd & 10, and just like that Shanahan faces a critical decision to either be aggressive or just try to get something back on 3rd & long.

7:13 p.m. — Another terrific pass, this time to Ray-Ray McCloud. Purdy is hitting everyone but the stars right now.

7:12 p.m. — Purdy with a big-time throw to Chris Conley for a first down on 3rd & 9. This is where San Francisco needs Purdy to be special, and he's answered the call so far.

7:10 p.m. — The 49ers are relying heavily on McCaffrey, who takes the ball on each of the first three snaps on this drive. A fresh set of downs for San Francisco.

7:04 p.m. — Mahomes takes off on third down but doesn't get anywhere close to the first down. He was fortunate to hold onto the ball. We will get another look at Brock Purdy and the 49ers' offense.

7:03 p.m. — We have our first sack of Super Bowl 58: Chase Young takes down Mahomes in a setback for Kansas City.

7:02 p.m. — Pacheco starts the Chiefs' second drive with a nice run for a first down run.

6:58 p.m. — Kyle Shanahan plays it ultra-conservative and only gets the 49ers some extra field position with those two plays. Purdy doesn't have an incompletion yet, but the 49ers also don't have any points.

6:57 p.m. — The 'Niners throw behind the line of scrimmage on 2nd & 27, but McCaffrey is able to pick up seven. Still a longshot here.

6:56 p.m. — Purdy does a nice job of escaping pressure, but Trent Williams is called for a hold. It's going to be an uphill climb for the 49ers at 2nd & 27, to say the least.

6:53 p.m. — Purdy goes right back to what works and finds Brandon Aiyuk for 18 yards. The 49ers are still on their own side of the field.

6:49 p.m. — The Chiefs pick up eight on 3rd & 12, which isn't enough. For the first time in the playoffs in multiple years, their opening drive ends in a punt. Let's see if the 49ers can regain their offensive momentum after the mistake...

6:48 p.m. — Isiah Pacheco is dropped for a loss of three on the Chiefs' first offensive snap.

6:45 p.m. FUMBLE — That's exactly what the 49ers couldn't have happen. McCaffrey loses the football, and it's George Karlaftis with the recovery. San Francisco wastes an instant scoring opportunity.

6:44 p.m. — The 49ers' offense is making it look easy. McCaffrey runs for a huge 11-yard gain after an 11-yard catch from Purdy.

6:43 p.m. — Purdy's first pass is a completion to Kyle Juszczyk for 18 yards. A nice run after the catch by the fullback.

6:41 p.m. — We are underway with a Christian McCaffrey run for a handful of yards.

6:40 p.m. — We're ready for football. The Al Davis torch has been lit, the Lombardi Trophy is on display, and these two teams are ready.

6:36 p.m. — The Chiefs have won the toss and chose to defer. The 49ers will start with the ball.

Pregame

6:35 p.m. — We're onto the coin toss, with high school football players from wildfire-ravaged Lahaina on hand as ceremonial captains.

6:32 p.m. — It's an unofficial 95 seconds for Reba.

6:30 p.m. — Reba McEntire's national anthem is over. But did it go over 90.5 seconds? Let's see...

6:26 p.m. — Post Malone is about to perform "America the Beautiful" with kickoff less than 15 minutes away.

6:21 p.m. — And now the Chiefs have been introduced as they get ready to try and become the first team in 19 years to win back-to-back Super Bowls.

6:20 p.m. — The 49ers and their boombox are out onto the field.

6:18 p.m. — Brittany Mahomes and family are ready for Super Bowl 58.

6:14 p.m. — Andra Day delivers a performance of "Lift Every Voice and Sing" as the game inches closer. Still two performances to come.

6:10 p.m. — The on-field festivities have begun with a moment to honor Walter Payton Man of the Year winner Cameron Heyward. We are 30 minutes away from kickoff.

6:05 p.m. — Looks like the 49ers have at least a slight crowd advantage at Allegiant Stadium...

5:59 p.m. — The pressure is on Brock Purdy in this game, whether fair or not. Will he be intimidated on the big stage against a stifling defense, or will he continue to look as poised as he has all season?

5:50 p.m. — Big Red is dressed in his signature red, and he met up with the Eagles brass an hour before kickoff. Reid spent 14 seasons in Philadelphia before heading to Kansas City.

5:30 p.m. — We know Patrick Mahomes isn't nervous. The Chiefs are out for warmups with about 70 minutes until kickoff in Las Vegas.

5:17 p.m. — NFL Network's Stacey Dales reports the 49ers plan to mix coverages against the Chiefs, knowing Travis Kelce has thrived against zone defenses this season. Steve Wilks has a massive task ahead of him tonight.

5:00 p.m. — Fred Warner intercepted Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 54. Does he have an even bigger performance in him today? The 49ers will need Warner to be all over the field.

4:52 p.m. — The 49ers are holding steady as 2.5-point favorites with less than two hours until kickoff, despite many pundits picking Kansas City.

4:40 p.m. — Taylor Swift is in the building with Ice Spice and friends.

4:22 p.m. — In case you missed it: Kadarius Toney does not appear to be injured. A year after he had a critical return to set up a Chiefs touchdown in the Super Bowl, Kansas City doesn't want to take any chances by playing him.

4:08 p.m. — No tight end has ever won Super Bowl MVP. Will that drought end tonight with either Travis Kelce or George Kittle taking over the game?

3:56 p.m. — Get ready to see a lot of Jason Kelce's overalls.

3:40 p.m. — Nothing too flashy for Brock. All business.

3:15 p.m.: CBS' soccer team is on site for this year's Super Bowl. Here they are having a kick about on the Strip. Interestingly enough, the final of one of the most famous soccer tournaments in all the world — the African Cup of Nations — is taking place right now.

It seems CBS' powers-that-be would rather their soccer experts offer surface-level musings about an NFL game than be tapped into the AFCON final. Go figure.

2:15 p.m.: Both teams are on the move; the buses transporting each team to Allegiant Stadium has left their respective hotel. Takeoff is on the horizon.

2:00 p.m.: Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon is expected to play in Super Bowl 58, though he is still considered a game-time decision with a groin injury, NFL Network's James Palmer reported.

1:38 p.m.: An English baker created a life-size cake version of Taylor Swift hoisting the Lombardy Trophy ahead of Super Bowl 58.

Lara Mason, 37, called Swift "a brilliant role model for young girls," including her own 6-year-old twin daughters. As for which team Mason is pulling for in the big game, she told BBC: "For the fairy tale ending, it absolutely has to be the Chiefs."

1:05 p.m.: Shanahan is in the building. What else would you expect from one of the league's most meticulous coaches?

12:33 p.m.: Kyle Shanahan is in transit to Allegiant Stadium. We're T-minus six hours away from kickoff. You have to imagine Shanahan will spend much of that time preparing for the puzzle that is Kansas City's squad.

11:00 a.m.: Las Vegas' Sphere arena has featured Super Bowl promos all week. Check out this video from the NFL highlighting some of its projections.

The crew even calls actor Ed Helms, who starred in the 2009 film for advice. "Some guys just can't handle Vegas," Helms says.

10:09 a.m.: Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is not expected to play Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

Toney starred in Kansas City's 2023 Super Bowl win but he has not played since Dec. 17 amid injuries and a drop in production. He was not listed on the Chiefs' injury report this week but will not be on the active roster.
