The Jaguars pulled off one of the most shocking upsets of this year's NFL playoffs by defeating the Steelers at Heinz Field on Sunday The 45-42 win puts the Jags in the AFC title game for the first time since 1999.

Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles stepped up for the Jaguars and went 14-for-26 with 214 yards and a touchdown. Leonard Fournette overcame an ankle injury suffered in the second quarter and scored three touchdowns. The Jags jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first half and then fended off a Steelers comeback.

The Steelers scored two touchdowns while facing fourth down. Ben Roethlisberger went 37-for-58 with 469 yards and five touchdowns, but the Steelers didn't have time to complete the comeback. Roethlisberger threw a touchdown to Martavis Bryant with one second left, but the Steelers were down three points after Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo made a field goal on the previous drive.

The Jaguars will face the Patriots in the AFC championship game on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

4:27 p.m.: FINAL: Jaguars 45, Steelers 42. The Jaguars will face the Patriots in the AFC title game.

4:24 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! Too little-too late, though. Roethlisberger threw a touchdown pass to Bryant. The Steelers will have only one second left to take the onside kick. 

4:21 p.m.: Bryant caught a pass for a big gain and now the Steelers have first-and-goal with 47 seconds left.

4:16 p.m.: The Jaguars are up 10 after Josh Lambo's field goal is good.

 

 

4:10 p.m.: Here's how the Steelers closed the deficit to seven.

 

 

4:10 p.m.: The Steelers tried an onside kick, but it was deflected and easily recovered by the Jaguars.

4:07 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! Roethlisberger lateraled to Bell and Bell made it into the end zone.

4:05 p.m.: The Steelers are on the Jags' 18. Less than three minutes left to try and make the comeback.

4:01 p.m.: Roethlisberger picked up a first down with a run up the middle.

3:54 p.m.: The key play of that drive was Bortles' pass to Yeldon for the 40-yard gain.

 

 

3:52 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! Bortles throws over the top for the score. The Steelers are down 14 with just over four minutes left.

3:51 p.m.: Bortles converts again on third down with a pass down the middle.

3:49 p.m.: Bortles converted third down by throwing to Yeldon on the sideline. He ran for a pickup of 40 yards and the Jags are inside the 25.

3:46 p.m.: That's the second time today the Steelers have scored a touchdown on fourth down.

3:42 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! The Steelers went for it on fourth-and-5, and Roethlisberger delivered a touchdown pass to Brown. The Steelers trail 35-28.

3:33 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! Bortles completed a 45-yard pass to get the Jags to the 2-yard line. Then Fournette punched it in for the touchdown. The Jags lead 35-21.

 

 

3:32 p.m.: Bortles completed a pass for a first down. The Jags are near midfield.

3:27 p.m.: The Steelers failed to convert on fourth-and-1 and the Jaguars will take over on downs.

3:23 p.m.: The Jags' punt is blocked! The Steelers will take over from the Jags' 48.

 

 

3:18 p.m.: Bortles completed a pass to Yeldon for a huge third-down conversion.

3:13 p.m.: The Steelers were forced to punt. The Jaguars will start their next drive on their own 25.

3:07 p.m.: The Jags just punted. Fournette returned to the field on that drive.

 

 

3:03 p.m.: Bortles fumbled the snap but grabbed the ball.

2:57 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! The Steelers are within one touchdown after Roethlisberger's touchdown pass to Le'Veon Bell.

2:55 p.m.: The Steelers are in the red zone after a couple first down passes from Roethlisberger.

2:51 p.m.: On their first drive of the half, the Steelers convert a third-and-1.

2:34 p.m.: Halftime: Jaguars 28, Steelers 14. The Jags jumped out for a big lead, but Fournette is injured and the Steelers generated some offensive momentum at the end of the half.

 

 

2:30 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! The Steelers went for it on fourth-and-11 and Roethlisberger hit Martavis Bryant for a 36-yard touchdown pass. The Steelers have some momentum going into the haltime break. It's 28-14 Jags.

2:20 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! The Steelers momentum — just like that— is gone. Roethlisberger fumbled as he was getting sacked. Telvin Smith scored after picking up the ball.

2:12 p.m.: Fournette is questionable to return.

 

 

2:09 p.m.: Fournette is headed to the locker room. He was shown limping on the broadcast.

 

 

2:03 p.m.: Outstanding throw from Roethlisberger and outstanding catch from Brown.

 

 

2:02 p.m.: Touchdown, Steelers! Roethlisberger hit Antonio Brown in the back of the end zone for a 23-yard touchdown.

1:53 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! T.J. Yeldon got into the end zone for the 4-yard touchdown run. The Jags are up 21-0.

 

 

1:50 p.m.: The Jaguars are threatening to score again. They are inside the 10.

1:46 p.m.: The Jags are shocking the Steelers so far.

 

 

1:42 p.m.: The Steelers went for it on fourth down and were stopped. That's a huge play by the Jags' defense. Bortles and the offense takes over on their own 25.

1:36 p.m.: Le'Veon Bell picked up 20 yards on the first play of the Steelers' next drive.

1:32 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! That escalated quickly. Fournette has another touchdown and the Jags are up 14-0.

 

 

1:29 p.m.: Interception! Roesthlisberger was picked off by Myles Jack.

1:27 p.m.: The Steelers' forced a three-and-out of their own, and Roesthlisberger and co. have the ball deep in their own territory.

1:19 p.m.: The Jags forced a Steelers three-and-out. They will have the ball in their own territory for the next drive.

1:17 p.m.: Here's the opening touchdown.

 

 

1:11 p.m.: Touchdown, Jaguars! The Jags went for it on fourth down and the gamble paid off.

 

 

1:08 p.m.: The Jags are inside the 10 to start the game. What a start.
