Nasty weather in New England kept Aaron Hernandez's trial on hold Tuesday, but the defense's case took a potential hit with a judge's ruling.

According to multiple reports, Judge Susan Garsh approved the prosecution's request to grant immunity to Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, should Jenkins be called to testify in the former Patriots tight end's murder trial.

That gives the prosecution leverage to compel Jenkins to testify against Hernandez; she can now be held in contempt of court if she refuses.

Prosecutors have accused Jenkins of disposing of the gun used in the killing of Odin Lloyd, and they allege that she lied 29 times during grand jury proceedings in an attempt to protect Hernandez. Jenkins' sister, Shaneah, was dating Lloyd at the time of his death.
