Russell Wilson is right: 4th quarter interception won't define his career image

Any coach worth a lick will tell players to not let their darkest athletic moment define their season or career.

Pundits believe the Seahawks' decision to throw in the fourth quarter on second down at the Patriots' 1-yard line is the worst decision in football history. They say it will haunt Russell Wilson forever, and maybe it will. But what it won't do is define his season or his career, because Russell Wilson is smarter than that.

Russell Wilson was never supposed to be here. He was never supposed to be a starter in the NFL. He was never supposed to make a Super Bowl, let alone win one. Wilson has hundreds of NFL games a head of him that will help define his legacy when it's all said and done.

Fans and media types will attach the final play of Super Bowl XLIX to Russell Wilson for the rest of his career, but Wilson has the choice to use it as motivation and not let it define his career, and that seems to be the path he is going to take.
