As he does every week, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman met with the media Wednesday at the team's facility.

But this time, he brought his own entrance music.

Week 8 picks: Straight up | Against the spread

With "Hedwig's Theme" playing on his phone, Sherman walked into the interview room and up to the podium dressed in a "Harry Potter" costume.

"This is a serious occasion. It's Halloween," Sherman began. "My son told me he wanted me to wear something, so it's happening."

Waving a wand, Sherman said the "Harry Potter" outfit was his "first and second" choice.

"I had a little bit more to the get-up, but it is what it is," said Sherman, who cited "Order of the Phoenix" as his favorite "Harry Potter" installment.

The Seahawks, who travel to New Orleans this weekend, are coming off an overtime game with the Cardinals that ended in a 6-6 tie. Sherman said the five-period game was tiring — but then, so would Quidditch.

"Five quarters of football was pretty tough, but Quidditch — the beaters, the chasers, trying to find the golden snitch, things like that, that's tough," Sherman said. "Five quarters of football though, in the elements, I would say that takes the cake."

Sherman may need to use the "Wingardium Leviosa" spell on himself and teammates to stop Drew Brees and the Saints' top-ranked passing offense.

"When you're a wizard, like we are out here, sometimes you have to show it to the 'Muggles' out in the world," Sherman said. "We've got a lot of wizards. My son's a wizard. Earl Thomas does a lot of magical things. Michael Bennett is 'Black Santa,' but he's also a wizard. So, you know, you just have a good time.

"I just went to Harry Potter land and that felt like home."
