Report: Raiders 'expected to pursue' Terrance Knighton image

Observers in Denver speculate that defensive tackle Terrance Knighton is not a good match for the scheme being implemented by new Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Philips.

But Knighton would be the perfect run stuffer for Oakland. The Denver Post reported Sunday the Raiders “are expected to pursue” the 28-year-old lineman.

Knighton has a history with new Raiders coach Jack Del Rio, who served as the defensive coordinator for the Broncos the past two years. Before that, Del Rio coached the Jacksonville Jaguars, where Knighton began his career in 2009.

Knighton, a Broncos team captain, told SIRIUSXM Radio last month he’s not feeling wanted in Denver this offseason.

“I haven’t gotten the feeling from the Broncos that I will be back," Knighton said. "I’m looking forward on being a Bronco or a fresh start.”

The Raiders allowed an average of 28.2 points per game last season, worst among NFL defenses.
