According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Baltimore intended to sign Hester when it cut receiver Keenan Reynolds.

Hester worked out with the team twice, and passed the required physical. The 33-year-old spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Bears but last played for the Falcons, missing all but five games last season with turf toe. He underwent surgery to repair his right big toe in January but was released by Atlanta in July.
