What is next for Rob Gronkowski? If the New England Patriots star knows, he is not saying a word.
Last season, Gronkowski publicly mulled retirement after the Patriots' NFL Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Reports then emerged that New England wanted to trade Gronkowski to the Detroit Lions, which prompted the five-time Pro Bowler to threaten retirement before he was traded.
Gronkowski was asked what his plans were for the 2019 season this time around but the 29-year-old said he is only focused on Sunday's clash with the New York Jets.
"I haven't been thinking about that at all," Gronkowski told the media on Thursday. "We're on the last game. We're in week 17. We've got the Jets, and that's all I'm really worried about as of now."
Gronkowski has missed three games this season due to back and ankle injuries. He has not been as productive, posting 45 catches for 658 yards and only three touchdowns.
When asked if he thinks he has the longevity of 41-year-old quarterback Tom Brady, who said he wants to play beyond 2019, Gronkowski reiterated he is not making those plans.
"We haven't thought about that. I haven't thought about that," Gronkowski said. "We've got this big game Sunday still and the playoffs after. That's the last thing that is on my mind right now. I love the grind. I'm all in.
"I've been all in all season, no matter if it's been up, if it's been down, and I'm going to tell you this right now: I'm going to be all in for the rest of the year no matter when it is. That's just my main focus. No matter how it goes."
