Odell Beckham Jr. is happy to be in Cleveland, and he is also happy to no longer be in New York.
"I'm probably the happiest I’ve ever been in my life," Beckham told GQ on Monday at the 2019 Met Gala.
The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was traded this offseason from the Giants to the Browns after a complicated history in New York. Beckham admitted his final days with the Giants were not working for him, and he told GQ he started to get a feeling around December that New York was no longer a great fit for him.
Beckham said he starting to feel "something in my gut ... I just wasn't very happy." The 26-year-old added of New York: "It just became not the right fit."

Beckham did not go in depth about why he was not happy in New York, but he did explain why he is so excited to join the Browns. He is teaming up with his best friend and former college teammate in Jarvis Landry. He also is joining quarterback Baker Mayfield, who Beckham said will "be a Hall of Famer," comparing him to Brett Favre.
As for the team, Beckham sees the Browns going on a title run.
"I plan on being there for the next five years and trying to bring as many championships there as possible," Beckham said, “turning (the Browns) into the new Patriots."
While Browns fans should probably curb their enthusiasm for 2019 , the hype around this team is real. And if Beckham can fit in with Cleveland better than he did in New York, then other NFL teams should be scared.
