There were rumors leading up to the start of NFL free agency that the Eagles weren't interested in having Nick Foles for the future, and the 26-year-old quarterback reportedly knew it.
ESPN's Sal Paolantonio made an appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia and said people close to Foles knew he was excited about getting out of Philly. When he was traded to the Rams in exchange for Sam Bradford and draft picks, he wasn't disappointed.

“I just talked to a member of Nick Foles’ family,” Paolantonio said. “The guy is absolutely pumped — overjoyed — that he’s out of Philly. … He was not going to re-sign here and the Eagles were not going to give him a long-term deal.”
The new Rams quarterback took to Twitter to thank his teammates and fans.
