Vikings' long snapper reportedly loses tip of pinky, returns to game image

Long snappers don't often get a lot of notoriety, but Viking Kevin McDermott will be synonymous with toughness after Thursday's 38-31 loss to the Rams.

Why? Because the former UCLA Bruin reportedly lost the tip of his pinky on a play in the middle of the game...and returned to action.

According to ESPN, McDermott lost the tip of his finger when he got it stuck in an opponent's facemask during the game.

He then got it stitched up and returned to a fantastic ballgame.

McDermott joins an exclusive club of players who lost parts of fingers and returned to games. Ronnie Lott of the 49ers infamously lost part of his pinky in 1985 when he broke it during a game.

This club has very few members.
