Report: Former NFL player Kwame Harris tried to bite cop, arrested on several charges image

Hit-and-run crashes, attempting to bite an officer of the law and receiving a DUI is not a good way to end the weekend.

Former NFL tackle Kwame Harris was arrested Monday night on two hit-and-run charges, driving under the influence of drugs, aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Around 7:30 p.m., somebody waved down police and said a man parked halfway in a driveway looked like he needed help. Police found Harris asleep behind the wheel of the car and realized the former player was groggy and unresponsive. When police attempted to handcuff him, Harris tried to bite the hand of one of the officers.

Medics called to the scene reported Harris was high.

Harris was drafted in 2003 by the 49ers and played with them until 2007. In 2008, he signed a three-year deal with the Raiders but was released after one season. He hasn't played since.

In a previous run-in with the law, Harris was sentenced to five days in jail for a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction in 2013.
