The Raiders could end up spending one more season in Oakland after all.

The team has “re-engaged in talks” to play at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in 2019 and Coliseum Authority executive director Scott McKibben told NBC Sports he considered the discussions “meaningful and productive.”

The Raiders pulled back their original offer to rent the Coliseum for their 2019 home games in mid-December after the city filed a lawsuit alleging the NFL's relocation process was illegal. The team is scheduled to move to Las Vegas in 2020.

The Raiders had reportedly been in negotiations with the Giants earlier this month about playing at Oracle Park in 2019. But, San Francisco mayor London Breed said she was concerned about the potential move.

"As far as I'm concerned, the Oakland Raiders should play in Oakland," Breed said at the time. "In San Francisco we have a number of challenges that we need to address with the Warriors coming to the new Chase arena.

"We have a number of things for years we've been working to prepare for, and we don't need another layer to add to what we already have in terms of an area that's really congested.”

The Raiders finished 2018 with a 4-12 record and missed the playoffs for a second straight season.
