The Jets have found their next coach.

New York is expected to hire former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources. He was fired by Miami in late December.

Gase served as the offensive coordinator in Denver and Chicago before being hired by the Dolphins, where he spent three seasons. He led the team to a 10-6 record and a playoff appearance in his first year in Miami in 2016 but tallied just 15 total wins over the next two seasons.

Gase will replace Todd Bowles, who was let go by New York after registering a 24-40 record over four seasons. The Jets failed to make the postseason under Bowles.

New York also considered hiring Baylor coach Matt Rhule and Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Todd Monken, according to the New York Daily News. Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy was also a finalist for the job, according to ESPN

The Jets finished last season with a 4-12 record. They last made the playoffs in 2010.
