Eagles defensive lineman Michael Bennett’s already rescheduled arraignment hearing Wednesday in Houston, stemming from an alleged incident at Super Bowl 51, has been postponed again, his attorney told NFL Media.

Bennett, 32, is facing a felony charge of intentionally and knowingly causing bodily injury to a person 65 years or older. Prosecutors in Houston accuse him of pushing a 66-year-old paraplegic woman working to control field access after the Super Bowl in February 2017 at NRG Stadium, where he was trying to celebrate with his brother Marcellus and his victorious Patriots teammates.

Bennett's arraignment hearing has been postponed multiple times since he turned himself in to authorities in Houston in March.

His attorney, Rusty Hardin, has said Bennett "flat out didn't do it," regarding the charge, and will plead not guilty.

According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, "The hope on Bennett's side is to get the case dismissed before the regular season. If it goes to trial, no guarantees on timetable, but most likely that'd happen after the season."

The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles open camp July 25, and their regular-season opener is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6, against the Falcons.
