Khalil Mack injury update: Bears star ‘on track to play’ vs. Lions in Week 10 image

Khalil Mack is nearing a return to the field.

The 27-year-old star pass rusher, who is dealing with ankle and groin injuries, participated fully in the Bears practice Wednesday. He is “on track” to play in the team’s Week 10 matchup with the Lions, according to a report from Chicago Sun-Times.

Mack originally suffered the injury when Chicago fell to the Dolphins in mid-October. He played in the Bears' loss to the Patriots the following week but missed their next two games, which were both wins.

Mack has tallied 20 total tackles, five sacks and forced four fumbles in six games with the Bears this season.

Chicago acquired the three-time Pro Bowl player along with a second-round pick, from the Raiders in exchange for four future draft choices in early September.

The Bears will enter their matchup against the Lions leading the NFC North with a 5-3 record.
