Veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb is excited to get back on the field.

Cobb, who has missed six of the team's last eight games nursing a hamstring injury, believes he will return to action against the Cardinals on Sunday.

And, as quarterback Aaron Rodgers' longest-tenured receiver on the team, he's just as excited to team up with the six-time Pro Bowl player, who has received his fair share of criticism in recent weeks.

"I'm excited to get back out there because I know with all the noise that's been said over the past week about him (Rodgers), he's getting ready to light everybody up this week," Cobb said Thursday, via ESPN. "It's going to be a lot of fun and I look forward to helping him out."

Cobb, a Pro Bowl selection himself, has played in just five of 11 games this year.

He was initially sidelined after pulling his hamstring during Green Bay's Week 3 contest in Washington. He had 17 catches for 192 yards and a touchdown in less than three full games, including the game-winning, 75-yard touchdown catch against the Bears in the season opener up to that point. At first, Cobb missed three games during Weeks 4-6 and then returned after the Packers' bye.

But, that was cut short when he pulled his hamstring again in practice before the Nov. 11 matchup against the Dolphins.

Cobb went through a long workout on the field before Sunday's game in Minnesota, but was never expected to return versus the Vikings. He did say it was the first time since the injury that he felt no issues with his hamstring, according to ESPN, however he also admitted it is tricky to know when muscle injuries have fully healed.

"I think I might have pushed myself to come back a little too early and reinjured it, obviously," Cobb said. "But I really do feel really good right now. I think that we've taken the proper steps and hopefully this is the right time and I'll be able to push through this."

He will be rejoining Davante Adams and rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, who have all carried the load during Cobb's absence.
