Mathews known for his history of injuries in San Diego — he's only played in all 16 games once (2013) in five seasons. But when healthy, he can be a productive back.

The Eagles have had an interesting offseason sp far at the tailback position. The team traded LeSean McCoy to Buffalo, saw Frank Gore bail out of a deal and reportedly have a "mutual interest" with DeMarco Murray.

There's no telling whether the Mathews signing will halt Philly's pursuit of Murray.
