The Jets bolstered their backfield Wednesday with the signing of another former Patriot.

Free-agent running back Stevan Ridley has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Jets, according to NFL.com.

Ridley, 26, saw his final season in New England end prematurely last year when he tore his ACL and MCL, likely impeding his free agent stock. But just two seasons removed from a 1,200-yard, 12-touchdown season, the Jets hope he'll bring some between-the-tackle pop to a backfield that includes incumbents Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell. The Jets released former Titans running back Chris Johnson in February.

The Dolphins and Redskins also reportedly expressed interest in signing Ridley.

His addition continues an offseason overhaul for the Jets. They've added 14 new players since the end of last season, including another member off the Patriots' Super Bowl-winning roster in cornerback Darrelle Revis.
