Charles Clay is officially trading sand for snow.

The Bills on Tuesday put together an offer sheet for the Dolphins tight end, who agreed to the five-year, $38 million contract. Miami had five days to match the deal after placing its transition tag on Clay this offseason but declined, ESPN first reported Thursday.

Clay's deal with Buffalo includes $20 million guaranteed and $24.2 million over the next two years. Miami can rest easy after signing former Cleveland tight end Jordan Cameron to a two-year deal last week.

Despite an injury-plagued 2014 season, Clay, 26, recorded 58 catches for 605 yards and three touchdowns. His best season came in 2013, when he caught 69 passes for 759 yards and six touchdowns.
