Eagles cornerback Malcolm Jenkins was in the spotlight Sunday when he and Panthers safety Eric Reid got into an altercation before the two teams matched up in Philadelphia.

Reid came out onto the field during the coin toss and had words with Jenkins. The Eagles cornerback addressed the incident with reporters Wednesday.

“Nobody wins when you see bickering back and forth," Reid said, via NFL Media. "If I know where your heart is and I know you’re about the people, then never will I publicly bash what you’re doing.”

Reid called Jenkins a "sellout" and a "neo-colonialist" after the game when speaking with reporters.

He said Jenkins took the issues he and Colin Kaepernick were addressing by kneeling on the football field to further advance his own agenda with a Players Coalition formed before the season, which once included Reid. Jenkins addressed his goals for the players coalition Wednesday.

"I have always maintained every chance I get to say Colin Kaepernick started this, Eric Reid deserves a job, Colin Kaepernick deserves a job, I can turn on the tape this week of our opponent (Jaguars) and see that Colin Kaepernick deserves a job," Jenkins said, via ESPN. "But at the end of the day, back when I started this back in 2018, my personal journey to help my own communities, it was never about the NFL or anybody having a job in the NFL, it was about people, everyday citizens where I come from, where I live here in Philly, and all across this country.

"So at the end of the day my decisions will always be about people."

Reid and Kaepernick first knelt during the anthem to call attention to racial injustice and police brutality in the United States. Kaepernick remains without a job. Reid signed with the Panthers in September. Both players have filed grievances against the NFL saying team owners colluded to keep them out of the league because they took a knee during the anthem.
