The most intriguing player in the 2015 NFL Draft might unseat the man who held that title in 2014.

The Browns have offered their two first-round picks to the Titans for the right to move up to No. 2 overall and select Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Mariota would supplant Johnny Manziel, who fell to No. 22 overall in the 2014 draft and has since seen his stock decline even further with shaky performances on the field and a stint in rehab.

But we've got a long way to go before that scenario becomes a reality. For one thing, it's hardly a given that Cleveland's top two picks — No. 12 and No. 19 overall — would be enough to get a deal done.

For another, ESPN can't even agree as an entity whether an offer has been made. Shortly after initial trade rumor was floated with credit to Cleveland-based reporter Pat McManamon, ESPN Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky cited a team source saying the Browns had NOT made an offer for Tennessee's pick.

Closing in on 24 hours until the draft begins, this won't be the last rumor or smokescreen thrown out by teams looking to disguise intentions. But it serves as a nice talking point to get the mill rolling.
